Police have arrested four people, including the husband of 42-year-old Ishwori Bhujel, in connection with her death and have launched an investigation into the incident.

According to police, Bhujel’s husband, 42-year-old Kumar Thapa, popularly known as “Nepali Bro,” was taken into custody along with three others on allegations of involvement in her death.

The incident occurred during a domestic dispute at their residence in Paiyutar, Lolang, Ward No. 6 of Tarakeshwar Municipality. Police allege that Thapa attacked his wife with a sharp weapon during the altercation.

Bhujel was serving in the Nepal Army.

District Police Range Kathmandu spokesperson SP Pawan Bhattarai said the three other individuals named in the complaint have also been detained. The Kathmandu District Court has granted a five-day extension for further investigation.

Those arrested include Thapa; 36-year-old Bikram Thapa Magar of Ward No. 4, Tarakeshwar, Nuwakot District; 40-year-old Pujan Thapa Chhetri, a resident of Balaju, Ward No. 16 of Kathmandu; and 25-year-old Pratiksha Acharya, originally from Hima Rural Municipality in Jumla District and currently residing in Gokarneshwor Municipality-8, Kathmandu.

Thapa, who is known on social media as “Nepali Bro,” had presented himself as a professional wrestler. Police said he allegedly assaulted Bhujel with an iron rod during the domestic dispute.

Bhujel sustained critical injuries in the attack at around 10:10 p.m. on Friday. She later died while undergoing treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital. Police are continuing their investigation into the case.
