Lightning Strike Kills One, Destroys Poultry Farm in Syangja

A lightning strike in Saruthar, Harinas Rural Municipality–4 of Syangja district has claimed one life and caused significant damage to a poultry farm.

According to the District Police Office, Syangja, lightning struck a poultry farm operated by local resident Tej Bahadur Thapa on Friday evening. As a result, around 550 chickens of various sizes were killed, and the farm was completely destroyed.

Approximately 300 meters north of the incident site, 58-year-old Khim Bahadur Thapa, who was at home at the time, was injured by the lightning shock.

He was rushed to the hospital for treatment but passed away on Saturday morning at the Provincial Hospital in Putalibazar, said Police Deputy Superintendent Prasanna Raj Chaudhary, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Syangja.
