Two Deaths in Surkhet’s Kakre Bihar Forest

Two individuals were discovered deceased in the Kakre Bihar forest located in Birendranagar Municipality-9, Surkhet, on Monday morning at approximately 11:30 a.m. Local residents who were in the forest to cut grass found the bodies and subsequently notified the police.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohan Jang Budhathapa, spokesperson for the District Police Office (DPO) Surkhet, the young man and woman were found hanging from a tree within the forest area. This detail was provided following the initial police assessment of the scene.

The identities of the deceased, including their names, addresses, and full personal details, have not yet been confirmed by authorities. Police estimate the ages of the victims to be around 21 years for the male and 20 years for the female.

Upon receiving the report, a team from the Latikoili Area Police Post was immediately dispatched to the site. Further enhancing the investigative effort, a second five-member team, commanded by Police Inspector Rajan Bhattarai from the DPO Surkhet, was also deployed.

DSP Budhathapa confirmed that the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the deaths. The process of preparing the muhalka (site inspection report) and other necessary legal procedures are currently underway as the police work to determine the cause of the incident.
