Arrest Made in Kathmandu: Individual Apprehended with Brown Heroin

Kathmandu Police have arrested an individual in possession of a significant quantity of illegal brown heroin. The suspect, identified as 43-year-old Kul Bahadur Tamang, originally from Suryagadhi Rural Municipality-2 in Nuwakot, was detained by a specialized unit.

The arrest was conducted by a team from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Kotewshor, Kathmandu. Mr. Tamang was taken into custody following a targeted operation by the bureau’s personnel.

The spokesperson for the Narcotics Control Bureau, Janak Bahadur Shahi, confirmed that 223 grams of brown heroin were recovered from Mr. Tamang’s possession at the time of the arrest. The seizure represents a substantial amount of the controlled substance.

The individual is currently in police custody as authorities initiate the necessary legal proceedings under the relevant drug control statutes. This operation underscores the NCB’s ongoing efforts to curb the trafficking of illegal narcotics within the Kathmandu Valley and surrounding regions.
