Police Arrest Two Individuals in Dolakha With Unexplained Funds

Nepal Police detained two men on Friday afternoon in Bhimeshwar Municipality-7, Dolakha, after they were found in possession of approximately 20 Lakhs rupees from undisclosed sources. The suspects have been identified as Ramchandra Sharma, a resident of Sundarbazar Municipality-2 in Lamjung, and Sher Bahadur Raut from Mechinagar Municipality-7 in Jhapa.

According to Police Inspector Shriram Timalsina of the District Police Office in Dolakha, the arrests occurred during a routine security check. Officers stopped the individuals after observing suspicious behavior while they were carrying a bag. A subsequent search revealed cash totaling 1,992,500 rupees for which the men could not provide a legitimate legal source.

The authorities took the suspects into custody immediately after they failed to justify the origin of the funds. The seized currency has been documented as evidence while the police conduct a formal inquiry into the matter.

Investigating officers are currently questioning both individuals to determine if the money is linked to illegal activities or financial crimes. The District Police Office confirmed that further legal proceedings and a detailed investigation are currently underway.
