Investigation Underway After Man Found Dead on Baitadi Roadside

A 25-year-old man was discovered dead on Wednesday in the Pancheshwar Rural Municipality of Baitadi district. The deceased, identified as Tej Bahadur Chand of Santola, had left his home on Tuesday morning with fellow villagers, intending to travel to Pithoragarh, India, for manual labor. His body was located in the Chaundali area along the Pancheshwar-Binayak road section.

According to Police Inspector Baldev Badu, the information officer at the District Police Office Baitadi, local residents alerted authorities after finding Chand unresponsive on the road. Upon arrival, police confirmed that the individual had already passed away. Officials reported finding an empty liquor bottle near the body, which was discovered lying face down on the ground.

The family of the deceased has raised concerns regarding the circumstances of his death. Deepak Chand, the brother of the victim, stated that bruises were visible on the body. He indicated that the family intends to file a formal legal complaint pending the results of the medical examination to determine if foul play was involved.

The body has been transported to the District Hospital for an autopsy to establish the official cause of death. Police representatives stated that a comprehensive investigation is currently active to reconstruct the events leading up to the discovery. Further details are expected to be released once the forensic report is finalized.
