One Dead in Rautahat Stabbing Following Land Ownership Dispute

A man was killed in a stabbing incident in Auraiya, Ward No. 3 of Ishanath Municipality, following a dispute over land ownership on Tuesday evening.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 8:00 p.m. after a heated argument broke out between locals Ram Bahadur Sah, Butan Sah, and Ram Autar Sah along with his son, Rameshwar Sah, over the ownership of a piece of land. The verbal dispute soon escalated into a physical altercation.

During the clash, Rameshwar Sah allegedly stabbed Butan Sah in the back with a knife, causing critical injuries. He was rushed to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur for treatment but was pronounced dead by doctors at around 9:00 p.m., according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Basanta Gautam, spokesperson for the District Police Office.

Ram Bahadur Sah also sustained head injuries during the incident and is receiving treatment at a local medical facility, police said.

A police team deployed immediately after the incident arrested Rameshwar Sah, the alleged attacker, along with Ram Autar Sah. The District Police Office, Rautahat said further investigation into the incident is underway.
