One Worker Killed, Several Injured in Tractor Accident in Bhaktapur

A worker has died and several others have been injured after a tractor carrying labourers overturned in Bhaktapur district, police said.

The accident occurred near Manjushree Gumba in Ward No. 8 of Changunarayan Municipality. The tractor was returning to Bhaktapur after transporting workers who had completed a concrete-laying job at a hotel in Kalamasi.

According to the Bhaktapur District Police Office, the tractor overturned after reportedly suffering a brake failure. A total of 12 labourers were on board at the time of the crash.

Police said the victim died after becoming trapped beneath the overturned vehicle.

Bhaktapur Superintendent of Police Surya Bahadur Khadka said the injured workers were rescued and taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions have not yet been disclosed.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
