Partly Cloudy Skies with Light Rain and Snow Likely in Nepal

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently under the partial influence of westerly and local wind systems.

Due to this, the weather is generally cloudy over the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, while the Terai areas are experiencing mostly clear conditions.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, partly to generally cloudy conditions are expected this afternoon in the hilly areas of Koshi Province and across the mountainous regions of the country. Other hilly areas will see partly cloudy skies, while the Terai is likely to remain mostly clear.

There is also a chance of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province, as well as at one or two locations in the mountainous areas and the hilly regions of Gandaki Province. Light snowfall is also possible in some high-altitude areas.

Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces. Other hilly and mountainous areas, including Lumbini Province and Sudurpashchim Province, will see partly cloudy conditions, while the Terai will remain mostly clear.

The bulletin also notes that light rain and snowfall may occur at one or two places in the mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces during the night.
