Two Arrested with Brown Heroin in Kathmandu Valley

Nepal Police’s Narcotics Control Bureau has arrested two individuals in connection with separate seizures of brown heroin in the Kathmandu Valley.

The suspects have been identified as 42-year-old Tek Bahadur Thapa Magar of Doramba-3, Ramechhap, and 24-year-old Sant Bahadur Basnet of Dudhauli Municipality-10, Sindhuli.

According to the bureau, officers from its Koteshwor-based team initially arrested Thapa Magar on June 23 (Asar 9) from Dhalku in Kathmandu. During the investigation, police traced the alleged supplier and arrested Basnet on June 25 (Asar 11).

Bureau spokesperson Durga Raj Regmi said officers recovered 6.720 grams of brown heroin from Thapa Magar during the initial arrest.

Based on information obtained during the investigation, police later apprehended Basnet from Balkumari in Lalitpur, where they seized an additional 80 grams of brown heroin.

The Narcotics Control Bureau said further investigation into the case is ongoing to determine whether others were involved in the drug trafficking network.
