Body of Missing Teenager Recovered After Swimming Incident in Bardiya

The body of a 14-year-old boy who went missing while swimming has been recovered in Madhuwan Municipality-7 of Bardiya district.

The victim has been identified as Siddhant BK, a resident of Ward No. 7. He disappeared while swimming near Podari, close to Shukrabasti, on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Armed Police Force (APF) Battalion No. 31, an intensive search was launched after the teenager went missing. A team of APF divers from Shamsherganj in neighboring Banke district arrived at the scene in the evening and recovered his body later that night.

APF Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Mahat said Siddhant had gone swimming with four other boys. While the remaining three returned safely, Siddhant failed to resurface.

A nine-member APF diving team was deployed for the search and recovery operation.

The incident occurred near the Indian border, approximately 12 kilometers southwest of the district headquarters, Gulariya.
