Youth Dies After Snake Bite While Handling Snake in Arghakhanchi

A 23-year-old man died after being bitten by a snake while handling it in Arghakhanchi district, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Pushkar Kumal of Baddanda, Chidika, Ward No. 1 of Chhatradev Rural Municipality. According to District Police Office Arghakhanchi Chief DSP Diwas GC, Kumal was bitten by the snake on Friday evening while attempting to catch and play with it.

He sustained critical injuries in the incident and was rushed to Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal for treatment. However, doctors declared him dead upon his arrival at the hospital.

Following the incident, local residents urged the public not to handle, play with, or unnecessarily provoke snakes, warning that such actions can be extremely dangerous.

They also advised people to seek assistance from the relevant authorities or trained snake rescuers instead of attempting to catch snakes on their own.
