Man Arrested in Panchthar for Alleged Cyber Abuse of PM Shah

A man has been arrested in Panchthar for allegedly posting abusive and insulting content on YouTube targeting Prime Minister Balen Shah and other political leaders.

The arrested individual has been identified as Roshan Pokharel, a resident of Ward 7 of Phalgunanda Rural Municipality in Panchthar district. He was taken into custody by District Police Office, Panchthar, following an investigation led by the Nepal Police Cyber Bureau.

Police said the action was based on content published on a YouTube channel named “Hades”.

According to authorities, Pokharel has been remanded in custody for 10 days by the District Court of Panchthar as investigations continue under cybercrime laws, said DSP Anish Karki, chief of the district police.
