The bodies of two young men have been recovered from the Bagmati River in Sarlahi, while three others have been found safe. The five individuals had gone missing on Saturday afternoon around 4:00 PM near the Jhapadi suspension bridge, located on the border of Rautahat and Sindhuli districts.

According to the Area Police Office in Karmaiya, Sarlahi, the deceased have been identified as 18-year-old Rohit Mahato and 20-year-old Ganesh Mahato, both residents of Lalbandi Municipality-9, Bastipur.

Police reported that Rohit’s body was recovered on Sunday near the bridge in Bagmati Municipality-11, Sarlahi. Shortly after, at around 1:30 PM on Sunday, Ganesh’s body was discovered near the dam site of the Bagmati River.

Meanwhile, the other three youths have been located safely. They are Sahamad Momin (28) and Mohammad Akhtar (24) from Barahathawa Municipality-5, Sarlahi, and Shyam Bhandari (20) from Brahampuri Rural Municipality-3, Sarlahi.

According to police investigations, the group had traveled to the Jhapsi suspension bridge on the border of Rautahat and Sindhuli without informing anyone. They went missing while attempting to cross the Bagmati River.
