A 44-year-old man died after drowning in a pond in Rolpa district on Thursday, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Resham Nepali of Sakhi in Ward No. 9 of Runtigadhi Rural Municipality.

According to police, Nepali was found submerged in a pond located near his residence.

Police said the deceased had been suffering from tuberculosis.

Further investigation into the incident is underway, according to Inspector Krishna Shrestha, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Rolpa.
