Six Arrested with Illegal Drugs in Kailali and Kanchanpur

Police have arrested six individuals from various locations in the Kailali and Kanchanpur districts of Sudurpashchim Province for possessing illegal drugs (a substance resembling brown heroin). The arrests were made through separate operations conducted from Sunday morning until evening.

In Kailali, 25-year-old Krishna Damai, a resident of Shikhar Municipality–2 in Doti district, was arrested from the bus park area of Godawari Municipality–2 with 370 milligrams of the illegal substance. A police team from the Area Police Office, Malakheti, detained him after finding the substance during a routine check based on suspicion.

Similarly, 30-year-old Prakash Sharma was arrested from Thapalipur in Lamkichuha Municipality–1 with 160 milligrams of brown heroin. He was taken into custody by a team from the Area Police Office, Lamki.

In another case, 30-year-old Tej Bahadur Mauni, a resident of Gaila Bouniya in Joshipur Rural Municipality–7, was arrested from Kusumghat in Bhajani Municipality–3 with 540 milligrams of illegal drugs. The arrest was carried out by a police team from the Area Police Office, Bhajani.

Meanwhile, in Kanchanpur, 22-year-old Sunil Chaudhary and 18-year-old Hasib Chaudhary were arrested from the Banpurwa area of Belauri Rural Municipality–3 with 860 milligrams of illegal drugs. They were detained by a police team deployed from the Bhuda Police Post.

In a separate incident, police intercepted a suspicious motorcycle (registration number Sudurpaschim Province 02–003 Pa 2373) in Darsikhalla, Belauri Municipality–10. The driver, 32-year-old Ishwar Dagoura, and pillion rider, 25-year-old Akash Dagoura, were arrested after 10 grams and 520 milligrams of illegal drugs were recovered from them. The motorcycle has also been seized.

According to police, further investigation is underway against all those involved under drug-related offenses. Authorities stated that increased cases of drug trafficking and usage in Sudurpashchim have led to stricter surveillance and intensified monitoring efforts.
