Two Children Killed After Being Hit by Car in Tanahun

A tragic road accident in Tanahun district has claimed the lives of two children after they were struck by a car along the Prithvi Highway.

The incident occurred at Markichowk in Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality–2 when an India-registered vehicle hit the children, according to the District Police Office.

The victims have been identified as 6-year-old Saina Thapa and 5-year-old Uliam Thapa, both residents of Aanbukhaireni–2.

Police said the children were returning home from school on Friday afternoon when the accident took place. They sustained critical injuries and were initially taken for treatment, but later died during treatment in Chitwan on Saturday morning.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
